I have never found a dairy free crouton so I decided to make my own!
4 slices of milk free bread (I use bread from our bread machine when it's gone a little stale)
1/4 C. Olive Oil
1 T. of your favorite spices (I use our bread dipping seasoning but you can use garlic powder, parsley, italian seasoning, steak seasoning. really whateve you have in your pantry)
Mix oil and seasoning in small bowl. Brush on both sides of each slice of bread. Stack bread up and cut into cubes. Spread evenly on cookie sheet and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours in a 200-225 degree oven. Use within a week or store in freezer for up to 6 weeks.
Can be grated up in a food processor to make bread crumbs.
QUICK COOK VERSION:
Cook in a frying pan on medium heat until golden brown and use immediately.
